There it was, in The News Tribune out of Tacoma, not far from where I live, the article about the 2,300-square-foot man cave created by 57-year-old Gordon Robinson. The cave houses $150,000-worth of memorabilia and cars in what he calls “Guytopia”. The cave, located in Lakewood, Wash., includes Robinson’s 1941 Willys Pro-Street hot rod, 1965 Pontiac GTO and 1966 Chevrolet El Camino. Despite what you may think, Robinson’s $100,000 man cave has helped the fellow preserve his 27-year marriage. Wife Debbie has her own private TV lounge, kitchen and craft room elsewhere in the home.

You can read more about the cave at the online edition of The News Tribune. I thought I’d take advantage of this recurring topic to show a few other examples of caves and the right gear for the job.

Snoop doggy den

snoop

For real and for true, this is the rapper Snoop Dog’s man cave, complete with a leather couch to comfort the afflicted. You can find plenty of man caves of the rich and nefarious at the Do It Yourself Network.

Back to the cave, Robin

bat cave

You’d never guess that this unique bat cave is in Australia. Odee.com reports that this den of ubiquity is populated with a CEDIA award-winning hi-fi system, a pneumatic sliding door and a ten-foot curved screen for catching up on the latest episodes of the caped crusader.

Table for two

pong

Inside the man cave, all furniture is functional. Looking for the top designs in ping-pong tables for your lair? Try the Stiga STS 275 Table Tennis Table, with performance grade net and posts, rolling wheels, and steel support aprons at a steal for $623.91. Check it out at the Man Cave Store.

Have yourself a ball

ski-ball

Every man cave needs a skeeball set, and ICE  has created the perfect home version of Iceball, now reduced by $500 to the asking price of $4, 431.80. The balls themselves resemble globes of ice.  Oh, yeah!

Grunt, grumble, chortle and guffaw. Pass the Buffalo wings, dude!

The ultimate dream of a man, to own their house, and setup their man cave. The literal cave is a bit extravagant but totally awesome! There needs to be a keggerator on hand as well.

  2. Jerry says:

Do you think Snoop Dog actually sits in his man cave, gets high, and looks at a big picture of himself

  3. [...] you love man caves, you’ll marvel at what the owner has done with this place in Coober Pedy, South Australia. Coober [...]

  • Kid's stuff:Bedroom furniture for dreamers

    Hey Woodrow,

You've put together a great post here. Hardwearing and long-lasting bedroom furniture is so important when you have young children, and choosing pieces which can handle the rough-and-tumble that comes with having little ones is key!

    Best wishes, Alex.

  • Awesomely Oddball Lawn and Garden Accessories

I plan to do this. What was your process in painting the bottom...outside portion of the tub?

  • Poor staging can crush your home sale

Woodrow, you have once again 'nailed' the essence of the issue of staging your home for sale with easy to understand pics and words. These are definitely rules to live by, oh wise one! I know I"m soaking up the knowledge you share--- now excuse me while I wring myself out. Can't wait for the next issue.

  • To everyone, a room of one's own

We've recently bought a house which needs A LOT of work and I'm trying to convince my other half to let me build a "room of my own" for the house, one where I can put my games console and beer fridge. She's not gone for it yet though. The most I've managed to get is an office I can work out of ... not quite the same ... LoL.

Mine would certainly be like the car boot room in the first image :)

  • Home designs you haven’t seen before

I wonder how far the folks in the Rock House are able to drive in their car? Maybe down to their boat? It's so true that home is where you are at the moment.
